SWTOR diary

Yesterday, I didn't accomplish too much. I decided earlier that I needed backup crafters once my second wave characters go into "retirement" so that my first wave characters can have a chance to play Knights of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne. They'll temporarily lose their good companions, and thence their ability to craft, hence the need for a backup. Once they're back online, the second wave characters could potentially go through the Knights expansions themselves. However, of course, I only have two (so far) retired characters, Hutran Thanatos and Taul Kajak. Vant Galaide and Anstal Tane are getting close too. The next closest aren't even second wave characters, but third wave characters Mirabeau Tane and Gael Heckett. Between those six, I can get all of the crafting skills a backup. In fact, I checked, and Hutran Thanatos has already maxxed out Biochem crafting. I think that I did it with the idea that I'd delete Phillippion, which I changed my mind on and didn't do.

So, I took Taul and started him on Artifice. I didn't get him maxed out, obviously, but I got him moving along fairly nicely, and he's at about 150 in all three skills, give or take a couple dozen. If I spend a relaxed hour or two a day having him aggressively send crew out on missions, I can get him done in just a few days. Of course, backup crafters need to have crew that's maxed influence, which I haven't bothered with for characters who aren't crafting. Johhn, my cybertech crafter who makes most of my money, has half a dozen maxed companions, and is getting fairly close to two more. Taul, somehow, has one, PHALANX, the robot. Even his girlfriend Kyra is only about 23 or 24. So, I'll need to go spend some time and money on gifts too to get at least two or three maxed out companions. Once I do, he may actually be a better artifice crafter than Mat Thew, believe it or not, because I don't have any maxed out characters for him, I don't think.

By the way, Anstal Tane and Mirabeau Tane are not related, just like Wulf Hengest and Beorn Hengest aren't related. Anstal is a sith species scoundrel, Mirabeau is a cyborg (so human) gunslinger, Wulf is a human vanguard and Beorn is a zabrak (Republic-type) sniper. I just used the names again. Beorn and Wulf should be obvious to any casual fans of Anglo-Saxon; they basically mean Wolf Stallion and Bear Stallion. Mirabeau is, of course, named after Mirabeau Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas. My fifth grade school was Lamar, also named after him.

Anyway, then I watched the first episode of Season five of Stranger Things with my wife while eating dinner that she made, Swedish meatballs (I do like having her back, although I was pretty good and effective at fending for myself with dinners while she was up north helping with the grandkids) then got back on Old Republic to group up with my son-in-law who just downloaded and installed it again, and started a new character, a Sith Warrior. He picked some dialogue options that I never have, so it was interesting to watch him go through a few of the early missions while grouped together. Maybe we'll do it again. I also sent my mid-level Sith Warrior to go be with him, Phovos Maledict, but maybe it makes more sense to send something with more variety, like a bounty hunter or agent next time.

Anyway, here's a few screenshots of a couple of outfits of Phovos', including my favorites, the spiky Sith and the Disco Sith.
